To start with your first question, about recommendation is a waste of time.
when you are ill where else can you go to receive treatment, it take long enough to get an appointment, so your not going to turn it down when your in need of medical help.
Your appointment system needs some serious looking at, you book people in, in roughly ten minute slots, when it takes far more than that to see a person. so people are waiting around for hours needlessly.
My friends appointment was for 13.40.pm she never got in for her procedure until 16.15pm. why oh why should it take all that time to book someone in, do all the pre assessment checks, then go for treatment.
It is outrageous the amount of time i spent waiting for my friend to take her home after the treatment.
Not to mention, all the time your hanging around QA your car parking charges are going up and up.
The procedure she had takes about 30 minutes, the check in about 20 minutes, and her recovery about an hour. Add 30 minutes on to this and you end up with 2hour 20 minutes, i was in QA that afternoon for four and a half hours, and it cost me £8.20 in parking charges.
Once the first patient has been booked in surely the rest of the session should work on a rolling system and so on.
One very unhappy person.
Hospital care has been excellent however Patient Transport needs a lot to be desired.
From attending Gosport War Memorial on fracturing my leg until appointment yesterday at QA at fracture clinic very happy with the way I have been treated.
Amazing care delivery through out maternity. Staff were caring and compassionate thank you.
I felt all my questions were dealt with in a way I could understand. Also, I did not feel rushed into making a decision.
It was a very professional experience and I really appreciated the amount of time that was invested in me.
I was recently in D5 for a total right hip replacement and my care was exemplary. From start to finish, day and night, all the staff were caring and helpful, even more caring after my hip somehow dislocated within the first day. My thanks go to the ward nurses (Sarah; Vicky; Tracey (TJ); Gill; Prima; Jo; Ash: Fabio; Adrian; Juliet: Ancy) for their tolerance and care; to the ward doctors (Nina & Fran); to the physio team (Andy; Kirsty; Ellie); to the anesthetists (Mitali (i think that's correct) & John Burden (especially for the music); and finally the consultants and surgeons and their theatre teams (Dr Rob Richards; Dr Fadi; Dr Lasrado; Luke) for their skill and ability. Hopefully, after full recovery, my life will be pain free again. Thanks to all (and apologies to anyone I've missed).
I was moved to a different room late in the evening and without any warning. I was initially moved into a room with other patients which seemed to have mental health problems and it was quite scary. I said I would happily pay the £250 per night for a private room but they weren't able to move me there for some reason. They did however put into the next room which was a bit better. However it was right oppisite the reception area and was very noisy at night time so very difficult to sleep unfortunately.
Having some advanced warning about being moved and having the option to pay for a private room would be very good.
I was seen by Amanda and she was extremely helpful and informative, explaining my condition, medication requirements and reasons and she was able to answer all my concerns while being friendly and making me feel at ease.
Staff very friendly and helpful. TV and Radio facility could have been set up for my stay as asked several times and only done near my discharge. Room was large with good wet room and toilet. Great views. Downside was communication, especially with other departments at QA. Not necessary wards fault but does need improving. Problems with community nurse and Urology for after care. It didn't seem that the whole process came together and a lot of chasing around had to be done by family. Hip Operation was very good and pain was eliminated.
